HMS Victory’s figurehead is ready!

I am very proud to announce that I finally finished the model of Victory’s figurehead!  🙂 A LOT of work and time has gone into it as well as a lot of headaches and a not responding computer. But finally it is done!

I am very satisfied with the result. The figurehead is the eye-catcher of the ship, or it’s crown if you like, and I wanted to do it some justice. The 3D printed model is available again at Shapeways who always surprise me with the quality of their prints.

Thank you for all your hard work! The figurehead you modeled is much more realistic than the one that came in the kit. I’m looking forward to painting and attaching it to my model of the Victory.

    Hi Ron,
    thanks!

I hope you have a lot of fun painting it. 🙂 When you are finished I would be happy to see some pictures of your work!

    Bye,

Is it possible to make figurehead and Trophy of Arms in 1:96 scale?

  5. togrovictory says:

    Hi,

this will get veeeeeery close to the limit of the 3D printer, but I will give it a try. 🙂

  6. togrovictory says:

The trophy of arms was updated to be printable in 1/96 and is available here:

Do you release your 3D models by any chance?

  9. Gary Morgan says:

Is it possible to get the Victory 3D printed parts in 1:64? Amati are releasing their 1:64 model in 18 / 24 months time and these would be a terrific accompaniment to that kit. I would be interested in a full set if made available.

  10. Dr Jon Butler says:

Can you make the 3D printed parts of the figurehead in 1:72 for my scratch built model, made over the last 18 years?

  11. Massimo Tocco says:

As it happens I am working on the Victory (on commission) and the scale of the model is 1:64. I have purchased what you have on that scale but to accelerate the process and to be able to meet the schedule it will be terrific if more could be made in 3d available. The figurehead will be for sure a fantastic addition.

hi is it possible to make a 3D victory figurehead and trophy arms in 1.98 scale

  13. Massimo Tocco says:

1:64 is a very common scale to build the Victory. Why there are not 3D printed parts for this scale?

  14. Dieter Fuessenich says:

Wie! That’ great – exactly as I need it for 1:100, 1:225 and 1:180 too.

    That’s the Trafalgar-Figurehead.
Bitte what anout the pre-/ ante-Trafalgar-figurehead of VICTORY Shows in the National Museum of the yRoyal Navy 1:4 Scale? And what’ anout the varvings of the original stern-galleries Shows at the wonderful Mountbatten Model of 1930s displayed nearby.

Hello, I tried a few days ago to order a figurehead from Shapeways because the one that Caldercraft provides in their kit is not even to consider. But… just heard from Ben from MidwestModelShop that Shapeways went bankrupt. Now I’m looking where to find the stuff that was offered on their site. I also tried to order several items for my Trumpeter RMS Titanic. I build both models simultanioulsly. Thanks for any response. Daniel

  16. Daniel Gyselinck says:

Hi, does somebody know where we can find these parts now that ShapeWays is not working anymore?

  17. togrovictory says:

    Hi Daniel,
unfortunately there is no other option available currently. I hope to find a new supplier, but until now there is no service in sight that resembles the Shapeways shop system.

    Hi Thomas,
Did’nt notice your reply, I was searching for any news about ShapeWays stuff when I came here on this page again. I also did not received an automatic notice of your reply (or I haven’t seen it). Sorry for that.
Is there any news about this issue yet? I’m currently searching for HMS Victory parts, and RMS Titanic parts as well. Sinds I’m not that young anymore it is difficult for me to find my way in this 3D world. The only parts I could find where the ones on regular aftermarket sites (like Maritime Models) that make, sell and ship their own creations. But the HMS Victory Figurehead is not an option yet, as well as some other parts for my two projects.
Is it ok if I give you my email address if you have got any news about this? moto.reflex1@telenet.be I’m in Belgium EU
    Kind Regards,
    Daniel

  26. togrovictory says:

Since Shapeways went bankrupt, quite a bit has changed. Shapeways is back, though with a new focus. Hosting a shop is no longer possible, but it looks like this might be possible again in the future through Thangs (https://thangs.com

Hi. Is it possible to make the figurehead in 1:48 scale?

  29. togrovictory says:

Yes 1:48 is possible! I just yesterday got an email form Thangs, which informed me that offering 3D printed parts should be available again after a long time! I will have to check how things work there, and then I hope I can offer parts again in a few weeks time!
